oh my goth

Maybe once a goth-punk always a goth-punk or maybe it is all the True Blood I have been watching but I am totally in love with the fall collection by Marie Saint Pierre. I need a different life. I need a life which would require having these outfits and places to go in these outfits.

outside - in

I love Amy Butler. I love her stationary, fabrics, patterns and her overall design style. So, it is really no surprise that I also love these flower-inspired carpets she created for Chandra. Simply gorgeous.

presenting....me

Well, after much editing, hair-pulling, lots of feedback, a couple of cocktails, and more hair-pulling. After some much appreciated, very talented work from my friend and web designer Ryan Feeley and lovely handwriting from my friend and illustrator Katy Dockrill - my website is up and running and looking fabulous. I'd love to hear your feedback and invite everyone to take a look. http://lyndafelton.com/

todays favs.

I saw this sweater from Top Shop and instantly thought of my friend Jasmine. Jazz is obsessed with sharks, one day I received 7 emails from her about random attacks. I think that wearing this sweater could help conquer her fear - or make matters worse - one or the other.

I don't know who this woman is but I love her, enough said.

Today I must pay homage to Dries Van Noten. The drape of his garments and every little detail is complete sophisticated perfection. I didn't think anything could top the love I had for his spring 2008 collection - until now.

sigh

Oh Kate Spade - how I adore your fashions full of colour and personality - if only I could afford them. If only I had me a trust fund left by some long-lost relative because if I did - oh the wardrobe I would have.

Coco before Chanel

Oh my sweet goodness, I can't wait for this movie. Picture it, well you really don't have to because here are some photos, Audrey Tautou in her new role as Coco Chanel. Coco Chanel who made a cigarette the perfect fashion accessory. And, let us not forget that she is also the one responsible for making a tan a must have. Smoker, drinker and sun worshiper, actually probably not the most responsible role model but who cares. She did it all wearing the perfect boat neck blue and white sweater and looking marvelous.
All images from Coco before Chanel.

hello helleborus

Maybe it is all this rain. This year not only have I managed to get sweet peas to flower but my helleborus flowered. It has been three years - three years of me waiting, feeding, watering, waiting some more for just a hint of a flower and nothing until this year - ta-da! Perhaps I should have left them in the garden but I couldn't resist cutting them and having them inside. Plus, I have had this fabulous vase sitting empty for far too long, they look fabulous together-non?

around the hood

Over the last few days I have been taking more pictures than normal of various things around my hood. And, because today it is pouring-again, and there is thunder and lightening - again, I want to drown today's post with images of happy things. Enjoy.

what's your sign?

I'm confused.
The first sign is located on the window of Chows hardware store around the corner from my house. Not only is terribly specific, not 45 but 48 minutes, it has been up for 4 days.
The other was posted at Brickwork's farmer's market. I'm thinking given the dangerous circumstance that warrant this signage, perhaps a once over for spelling might have been suggested - just a thought.

Yesterday it rained like crazy - thunder, lightening, more thunder and then more lightening. When it was all I went out side and discovered that one of my hydrangea bushes was pretty much flattened from the weight of the rain water. I almost cried but then I realized only a few branches were actually broken the rest just needed a gentle shaking off. So, the injured were brought inside to the dining room table next to my glorious air-fern. Then, this morning I went out on my back deck and there was this little sweet-pea. I've never been able to get sweet-peas to flower before. Sadly, the stem was broken - I'm guessing rain or raccoon - so, in the house it came.
